Retailers including Aeon Supermarket, Ranch Market, and Hero Supermarket have been contacted and have expressed their willingness to participate in promotional activities featuring USA Pears. Furthermore, the importer has indicated plans to place an additional order for a subsequent container in the near future. Meanwhile, other importers are awaiting confirmation from their suppliers regarding the availability and shipment schedule of USA Pears.

Opportunities in Your Market for Specific Varieties, Sizes, and Grades:
This season, PBNW in Indonesia has recommended that importers bring Anjou, Red Anjou, and Bosc pears in sizes 70-90.
Update on the Competition in the Market:
Most competitors are still Chinese pears. Other competitors include South African pears (Packham and Forelle), Australian pears (Red Angel), and Korean Singo pears. Among other imported fruits, the competitors are Chinese grapes and mandarins, Australian oranges and mandarins, and New Zealand apples. For local fruits, both wet markets and modern markets are heavily promoting local mangoes at cheaper prices.
Political or Economic Issues Impacting Imports, Retail, or Consumer Behavior:
The Indonesian government aims to sustain economic growth in the third and fourth quarters of 2025 through programs that stimulate public consumption. Susiwijono Moegiarso, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, said stimulus packages introduced earlier this year—such as social assistance, wage subsidies, and transport discounts—have effectively supported growth, helping the economy expand by 5.12 percent in the second quarter. He noted that household consumption contributes over half of national growth, making purchasing power preservation a key priority. The government will continue supporting initiatives, including the Indonesia Shopping Festival, organized by APPBI which ran from August 14–24, which is expected to generate Rp23 trillion (US$1.42 billion) in transactions.
