The trade is starting to ask about USA Pears. Recent years with high prices did harm the volumes to the countries within this region, as they are very price-sensitive.
Expectations for Any Freight or Logistics Challenges:
At this point, the logistics situation is ok, the transit time seems to have come back from the delays during the COVID period.
Opportunities in Your Market for Specific Varieties, Sizes, and Grades:
In Ecuador the preferences are for Bosc, Green Anjou and to a lesser degree, Red Anjou.
Update on the Competition in the Market:
The presence at this point is from Argentina, as Chile finished their season a few months ago. In Ecuador, some European pears were seen last season, but with high prices and low availability, it is hard to say if this trend will continue.
Political or Economic Issues Impacting Imports, Retail, or Consumer Behavior:
Both countries continues to struggle with political problems, including presidential elections. Economically, it seems that both countries are finding ways to restart the economy, but still need time to see prosperity. Some social pressure is reality in both countries, as the presence of immigrants has put lots of pressure on job availability.

These markets continue to appreciate the USA Pears, and reasonable pricing will help regain trade confidence.
