Feedback from the Trade on Their Plans and Interest in the USA Pear Season:
Arrival quality of USA Pears in the UAE has been good this season, with the exception of one container where the importer reported quality issues. USA Green Anjou pears have reached shelves in more than seven hypermarkets across two retail chains and have also been introduced on Talabat, the largest e-commerce delivery platform in the UAE. Two importers still hold some inventory in their warehouses, with one expecting an additional incoming shipment of two mixed-fruit containers. Demand has been strong and could be further improved with greater access to U.S. suppliers.
Expectations for Any Freight or Logistics Challenges:
Freight and logistics conditions are expected to remain largely stable, with no major impact anticipated even in the event of a renewed conflict.
Opportunities in Your Market for Specific Varieties, Sizes, and Grades:
Opportunities for large-size, high-grade fruit continue to increase. The mid-range pear category has become more competitive this season, with greater variety and sharper pricing, and typically reaches its peak with the arrival of South African pears in the market.
Update on the Competition in the Market:
The South African pear season has not yet started in the UAE, while EU-origin pears have maintained a strong presence in the market this season.
Political or Economic Issues Impacting Imports, Retail, or Consumer Behavior:
Political and economic conditions remain generally steady but sensitive to regional developments.
